Brother,

Something has come to my attention and I need to make you aware of it so you don't fall into a trap. And as a consequence put your soul in danger. Last week I encountered a podcast on "spirituality."

The host spoke of "new consciousness" (whatever that means), "inclusivity", the "universe", etc. Essentially what this podcast was sharing was "PANTHEISM."

"PANTHEISM": Identification of God in all things. "PAN" means "ALL". THEOS means God.

Pantheists don't see God as a Person, a character with a personality; with a will and moral commandments. But rather an impersonal all-inclusive force or "Consciousness." This New Age spiritualism refers to God as "the universe."

A Pantheist God is not as great as a Theist God because, for pantheism, God is PART of the Universe. He is the whole of which everything else is part. Compared to a, universal, Theistic God which transcends time, space, and matter.

The problem with pantheism

Here's where pantheism fall apart.

If God is "all things" then it follows that God, too, must be evil as well as good. It would also follow that Pantheists do not have an absolute morality since God manifests Himself in Hitler just as He does in Jesus. It would also follow that God is a part of sin as well as sanctity. Which you and I know is not true because it violates the very laws of Logic. In particular the principle of non-contradiction: something cannot both be and not be at the same time and in the same way.

So keep you radar up the next time you hear people say "we are all one; God is in everything."

If you know someone who would benefit from today's post, please share it with them. Thank you.

From one Dauntless Christian to another, keep fighting the good fight.

Your brother in Christ,

St. Sebastian "The Dauntless Christian"

P.S. There is another form of "religion" known as "deism." I'll juxtapose this with theism at a later date to help you better understand your faith.
